I am currently a senior programmer in the Department of Radiology at the Mount Sinai Hospital, developing web-based data management systems and conducting research in medical image analysis, particularly on methods for the early diagnosis of lung cancer from computed tomography (CT) scans.

Prior to my career at Mount Sinai, I was a research engineer at Gentex, where I worked on vision-based driver assistance systems.

Research

My research interests lie in the realm of extracting useful information from medical images. My current projects address several facets of computer aided diagnosis of lung cancer from CT images. One of my projects is developing algorithms to classify suspicious lung lesions as malignant or benign based on features extracted from a single CT scan. Another project deals with the measurement of lung cancer growth rate, with an emphasis on how it can be used to diagnose lung cancer. I am working on applying these methods on murine micro-CT scans.
